Somewhere Up There is a Rock group that breaks the boundaries of genres by combining driving guitars, catchy pop vocals along with a unique synth element. The band was started in the Fall of 2011 at SUNY Oneonta college. Members Nick Squillante (singer) and Rob Farella (drummer) have known each other their whole lives and ended up going to the same college. They conveniently got placed across the hall from each other in their dorm building and both of their roommates Joe Frappaolo (guitarist) and Nick Juliano (Keys/Synth) were musicians as well. They started making music together in their dorms and received great feedback from their friends in the building. Eventually, they needed to find a bassist that would fit the band. Rob and Joe hosted an Open Mic Night and when Kyle Sisco (bassist) showed up and played his bass, they were all extremely impressed with his level of skill. It was a no-brainer that Kyle would be the new bassist. Months later, they gained a following all over campus and have performed numerous shows on/off campus at SUNY Oneonta. They have performed on the school's radio station several times, as well as performing on the school's TV channel. Branching out of Oneonta, the band has played several venues such as The Loft (Poughkeepsie, NY), Sullivan Hall (NYC), and several other venues on Long Island. They are on the rise and have been setting up small tours during their breaks from college. They put out an EP called "Northern Lights" and a single, "The End", on iTunes, Spotify, CDBaby, etc. that was self: written, recorded, mixed, produced, and mastered. They also began the writing process for their new album, which will include their single "The End" that was released on December 21st, 2012. Lots of big things are coming from Somewhere Up There so stay connected!
